The challenge

Campus operations at IIT Bhilai were fragmented across disconnected tools: paper attendance, manual registers, cash-based payments, scattered health records, and stand-alone service desks. Students carried multiple credentials, while operations teams spent significant time reconciling inconsistent data across departments.

The solution

As founder of RecogX Init, I designed Seamless as a microservices-based smart campus platform with Python/FastAPI and React at the core. Kong API Gateway and Nginx handle secure traffic management, while AWS infrastructure, Dockerized services, PostgreSQL/Redis data layers, and observability tooling support reliable campus-scale operations. The platform unifies SCOSTA/RFID identity workflows across academics, mess, health, library automation, and digital wallet services, with Harmony 360 analytics enabling proactive well-being interventions.

    Founded and led development under RecogX Init, with incubation support at IBITF, IIT Bhilai.

  2. Mapped end

    to — end student journey touchpoints across academics, mess, health, library, and campus vendors to define a unified domain model.

  3. Designed microservices architecture and split modules into independently deployable services for identity, attendance, wallet, health, and access events.

  4. Implemented Python + FastAPI service layer with schema

    first REST contracts and service — to — service authentication.

  5. Built React operator and admin apps for role

    based workflows and real — time reporting.

  6. Set up Kong API Gateway + Nginx ingress for route policy, authentication, rate limiting, and upstream failover.

  7. Containerized platform services with Docker and established reproducible deployment flows on AWS.

  8. Implemented SCOSTA and RFID card lifecycle with secure issuance, activation, and tap

    event ingestion.

  9. Delivered academic module for course, professor, and classroom management with live attendance analytics.

  10. Implemented mess module with multi

    vendor operations, menu controls, and card/mobile check — ins.

  11. Integrated health workflows including digital records, appointments, telemedicine hooks, and reimbursement digitization.

  12. Developed library automation foundation using RFID tags, NFC cards, IR/RFID gate controls, and biometric

    validated circulation.

  13. Enabled digital wallet operations across campus vendors with secure balances and transaction audit trails.

  14. Built Harmony 360 analytics pipeline for cross

    module behavioral signals and early intervention triggers.

  15. Added SDG

    aligned low — cost building automation controls for lights, fans, and HVAC energy optimization.
