The Problem
The state distributes millions of textbooks annually, but had no visibility into whether books actually reached students. Schools reported manually via paper forms — data was delayed by weeks, often inaccurate, and impossible to aggregate for policy decisions.
The Approach
Built a real-time tracking platform where schools log book receipt, distribution to students, and condition reports digitally. The system provides district-level and state-level dashboards with analytics for demand forecasting, surplus/deficit detection, and allocation optimization. Integrated with existing government databases for school and student records.
How it was built
Mapped the existing paper-based distribution workflow and identified bottlenecks — delays at district warehouses, missing acknowledgments from schools, no feedback loop.
Designed the data model to track books from printing to student hands, with status updates at each checkpoint.
Built the analytics layer — demand forecasting based on enrollment data, surplus detection across districts, and automated alerts for anomalies.
Developed the school-facing interface for low-bandwidth environments, with offline-first data entry and background sync.
Recognition
Scheduled to be inaugurated by Hon'ble Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari — aims to revolutionize educational resource management across the state.
